The beauty of building a home at RV Homebase, according to new residents Ailsa and Geoff Taylor, is the range of ready-to-build and thought-out home designs available.

The former Gold Coast couple built a Tamar design in Stage 6 of the project, deciding to make a small modification to the plan and “flip” the garage.

“We wanted a west-facing garage so it would be easier to back the camper trailer in, but other than that this plan was perfect for us,” Geoff said.

The couple enjoy a wrap-around patio and a large grassy backyard for their two dogs, Bronte and Phoebe.

The Tamar design features spacious open plan living, dining, lounge and a fabulous kitchen. Generous master bedroom with WIR and ensuite, 2nd bedroom with built in robe and large main bathroom compliment this design including ample storage and study nook. The home features a laundry situated in the garage, which is fully enclosed at 16m x 6m.

Ailsa said since moving to RV Homebase they have enjoyed the quiet, friendly neighbourhood of like-minded travellers.

“We are originally from a country town where the people are as friendly as they are here, which is something we missed living on the Gold Coast,” she said.

“We are looking forward to the green zone being established next to our place and watching the other houses get underway – it all happens in the blink of an eye.”

The couple’s move to RV Homebase was decided in February after a fleeting visit to the Village convinced them it was the right time to relocate.

“We had been living on the Gold Coast for 12 years, which was fantastic until the developments started to happen all around us,” Ailsa said.

“Traffic was getting busier and busier and the next thing we knew a 7/11 was being built just outside our backyard.”

The couple had heard of RV Homebase through friends and had spoken to Sales Manager, Kevin Leary about the possibility of relocating.

“After speaking with Kevin and having a look around the Village, we put our house on the market – and it sold the very next day!” Ailsa said.

‘When it’s right, you just know it! From there on it was just about choosing our design and starting the building process.”

Geoff and Ailsa joined the RV Homebase community on August 18, and have never looked back.

“We just love it here, everything about this place is just fantastic – we love our home and our new lifestyle.”
