It can be a difficult decision to leave your home you lived in for a long time and move to a new area, especially when you leave three beloved horses and a cat.

But for new RV Homebase residents, Steve and Jan Quinn, it was a decision that ultimately changed their lives for the better.

“In 2015, Steve injured his back and we had decided to sell and downsize, however after searching many alternatives we could not find anything suitable,” Jan said.

“Later in the year I found RV Homebase on Google, liked what we saw and phoned Shaun to make an enquiry.”

The couple from Jimboomba, near Logan in Queensland arrived at RV Homebase on Australia Day, 2016 with the intention to “have a look around” and enjoy two free nights on the RV Homebase Hardstand.

“But as soon as we drove in I said to Steve, ‘I could live here’,” Jan said.

“Consequently, we paid our $1000 deposit on a site straight away.”

Soon after their stay at RV Homebase, and with excitement building for their pending move to the Village, Jan and Steve began the process of selling their home and horse property.

“We were quite committed to several horse clubs, bred several varieties of birds, involved with overseas farm-stay visitors and were still running the forklift business, and actually still are,” Jan said.

“However, I truly believe in fate, and in February our pest control guy mentioned he had just sold his property and put us on to his very highly recommended real estate agent, who suggested we list straight away.

“Two days later, Shaun from the RV Homebase team phoned to say that a site on the lake in Stage 6 had come up and to see if we were interested.”

And the rest, as Jan said, is history!

“Our three horses and my cat, Mishka have all gone to excellent homes, and we have our dogs Max and Milo with us at RV Homebase,” she said.

“Unfortunately we are only here every alternate week, due to Steve’s continued work, but living here is like being at a resort.

“Everyone is so friendly and the facilities are just amazing — I cannot think of anything we don’t have here.”

Welcome to the Village, Steve and Jan!
